# Backups

What's backed up, where, and when.

## The vault

- `C:\Tomasetti Tech` is a git repo — every change is versioned. - Commits are the primary backup for docs, scripts, and configs.

## macpro pool

- `/home/tj/bin/lab-backup.sh` runs at 03:30 → backs up to the mergerfs pool. - The pool (`/srv/pool/`) is the bulk file storage (~4.4 TB).

## Offsite

- `scripts/backup/weekly-backup.ps1` (Windows) → rclone to Google Drive (`Tomasetti-Lab-Backups`). - Scheduled via Windows Task Scheduler (daily + weekly).

## What to remember

- Secrets are in `secrets/` + `CREDENTIALS.md` (gitignored, backed up separately). - Media lives on `.7` `F:\Media` (DrivePool) — not part of the git repo. - If a host dies, the vault + offsite backup + macpro pool are the recovery sources.
